How Do Wireless Networks Work Print E-mail

In every computer, there are the wireless networks. In simple version wireless network is only meant for using radio waves instead of wires to transmit data between computers. Here are some details on the functions of wireless network in your computer:

Ones and Zeros.

Every one knows about the data flows digitally through a computer. This data are transmitted by using binary: ones and zeros. As the computer only reads zero and one, it is a way of communication through computer which translates very well to radio waves. Mean while the computer makes beep sounds. This sound is the beyond of the hearing range of a human being. You can say it as radio waves, which you can’t hear.

Morse code.

Morse code is the one of the channel in which the network works. It is the way of transmitting of alphabet representing the dot or dash over radio wave. This theory was applied in earlier years in telegraph as the telegraph was the passing information from one to another. Even this is also transmitted through a binary system in form of one and zero.

As it is used in wireless networking, it can also be applied in computers in form of Morse code. If you experiment on a computer by plugging radio receiver and transmitter both, then the computer will able to send out dots and dashes to transfer your data one place to another

All about Frequencies.

You can not believe the computer can transmit enough bits to send and receive data at a particular speed. In the wireless transmissions, more data can be sent at very high frequencies per second. The frequency of wireless transmission is 2.4 gigahertz which is very much similar mobile frequency. Wireless networking only works on a particular area, in which frequency is high and the wavelength is short enough. The technique is used by wireless a network is known as 'frequency hopping'. The wireless uses dozens of frequencies in the range that are given. It is quietly different from radio a signal which makes wireless networks more immune. The radio signals are transmitted by only one frequency.

Access Points.

Internet access is the final step when it comes to network sharing in all the computers. An access point as wireless equipment is used for the internet access in your computer. These access points are more expensive than wireless cards for one computer. This access point has the capacity of talking to around 100 computers at the same time as they contain radios, which also helps in sharing out access to the Internet between them. There is also a dedicated access points which are so effective in larger networks. You can also use the dedicated access points as the access point, if you have very few computers.

They Understand Each Other.

It is certainly so complicated to build wireless equipments for working together by different companies. In fact there are standards wireless devices which are manufactured by different companies. These standards are technically called the 802.11 standards. Now a- days wireless networking is so easy and cheap to use, which depends upon the standard of people.

You Don't Need to Worry.

Wireless networking hardware and software are there for the frequencies which can handle automatically, that is why you should not be worried about. You are no need to tell that what frequency is used by one wireless device to another. It will be automatically performed.
