Photocopiers have come a long way since Xerox introduced its first model in the late 1950s. Today’s models offer features never dreamed of by the designers of that first model, even the budget photocopiers. Scanners, faxes, photo and laser printers are all additional features found on many photocopiers in today’s competitive market.
As these and other features become more and more commonplace, the average cost for a quality photocopier is driven further down. Machines that would have cost over a thousand dollars just a few years ago have been slashed to a fraction of the cost. Retailers today offer quality budget photocopiers starting at around $150. Of course, the price is determined by the features selected. When determining the price range for the photocopier for your home or business, first think about the functions. Make a list of the tasks to be utilized. Next, think about the volume of work to be done by your organization. If yours is a small business, with less than 500 pages copied per month, than a budget copier may be just what you need. Then think in terms of speed of processing. Perhaps a machine that copies and prints 20 pages per minute will be sufficient. With a little research on the front end, quality budget photocopiers can be purchased for a fraction of the cost from a few years ago. Even the high end budget copiers are around $500. Add that with rebates and it’s easy to slash prices even further. |
